Moving to a new Mac

Lifetime covers all your Macs. Yearly and Monthly cover up to 3: remove one in Settings › License to make room for another.

How you move depends on your plan.

Lifetime

Lifetime covers all your Macs. Install Typeahead on the new Mac and activate it with the same key. There's nothing to remove.

Yearly or Monthly

Your plan covers up to 3 Macs. Under the limit, just install Typeahead on the new Mac and activate it with your key.

At the limit, remove a Mac first:

  1. Open Settings › License on one of your Macs.
  2. Under Macs, click Remove next to the Mac you no longer use, or Remove This Mac on the Mac you're leaving.
  3. Activate Typeahead on the new Mac with your key.

A removed Mac stops using Typeahead and asks for the key again. You can add it back later with the same key.

Old Mac sold or broken? Remove it from the list on any of your other Macs. If you activate on a new Mac while you're at the limit, Typeahead lists your Macs there, so you can remove one without the old Mac.

On the new Mac

  • Allow Accessibility and download a model again. Each Mac downloads its own model, once.
  • What Typeahead learns is stored on the Mac it learned on.
  • If Typeahead asks for your key, paste it from your email.
