Yes. Messages is on our compatibility list, and there’s nothing to set up in it. As you type a reply on your Mac, Typeahead suggests the rest in grey at your cursor, using what’s in the conversation. Press Tab to take it all, → to take one word, or keep typing and it steps aside.

It reads the visible text of the window you’re typing in, so a reply can pick up what was just said. That happens on your Mac. You can turn Window context off in Settings, or turn Typeahead off for Messages from the menu bar.

No. Suggestions are made by a model on your Mac, and Typeahead never sends your writing to a server. Messages still delivers your messages, as it always does. Typeahead’s only network activity is license activation, a license check each time the app starts, optional update checks, and the one-time download of your AI model.

Suggestions continue the sentence you started, in the style you pick for Messages, and Learning brings back lines you’ve written before. You decide what to keep: ignore a suggestion and it’s gone.
