Uninstalling Typeahead

How to remove Typeahead from your Mac, what to do first if you subscribe, and how to clear what it has learned.

Last updated October 6, 2026

Removing Typeahead takes a minute. If you're on Yearly or Monthly, start with the steps below while the app is still installed.

Before you remove it

  1. Cancel your subscription, if you want to stop paying. Deleting the app doesn't cancel it. Use the link in our emails, or Settings › License › Manage or Cancel…. See Cancelling or changing your plan.
  2. Clear what it learned (optional). Settings › Learning › Clear Learned Data removes everything Typeahead has learned on this Mac. To clear your usage stats too, use Clear Usage Data… in Settings › Insights.
  3. Free up this Mac's place (Yearly or Monthly). Open Settings › License and click Remove This Mac, so your plan has room for another Mac. Typeahead stops on this Mac when you do.

Remove the app

  1. Click the Typeahead icon in the menu bar and choose Quit Typeahead.
  2. Open your Applications folder and drag Typeahead to the Trash.

Tidy up (optional)

  • The AI model and learned data are stored apart from the app, in a folder named TypeAhead inside your Library's Application Support folder. Delete that folder to get the model's disk space back.
  • Accessibility: in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility, select Typeahead and click the minus button.
  • Login Items: if Typeahead still appears in System Settings › General › Login Items, remove it there.

Your license key stays in your email, so you can install Typeahead again any time.
