It reads the visible text of the chat you’re typing in, so a reply can pick up what was just said. That happens on your Mac. You can turn Window context off in Settings, or turn Typeahead off for WhatsApp from the menu bar.

No. Suggestions are made by a model on your Mac, and Typeahead never sends your writing to a server. WhatsApp still delivers your messages, as it always does. Typeahead’s only network activity is license activation, a license check each time the app starts, optional update checks, and the one-time download of your AI model.
